The client operates in the travel and hospitality sector.

Project Overview

The issue faced by the client was within the reservation management system, in the invoice generation process. Techniques used by the client for the process included:

  • Core data in iSeries database
  • Logic of data formatting in iSeries programs
  • Delphi’s invoice generation logic

Changing the formatting logic required changes in iSeries and Delphi programs. Trying to achieve a quick turnover for the required changes in the invoices was a challenge.

Benefits & Results

  • Stored procedures were built for reusing business logic, avoiding dual maintenance across different interfaces
  • Converting DDS to DDL improved performance, flexibility, and data integrity
  • More automated processes were implemented, lowering manual agent process usage and resulting in the reduction of costs
  • Stored procedures were called directly from UI applications or web services were created for accessing the procedures

Additional Benefit

  • Rightrez was integrated (Amadeus air ticketing system was replaced) with AS400
