IBM iSeries/AS400 Developer - Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description:

  • Query/400 – Experience with ILE Advanced concepts (procedures, service programs, functions, free RPG coding syntax).
  • Experience with complex SQL concepts and programming – Experience with FTP concepts and Automation.
  • Experience creating, building, and maintaining different libraries in an AS/400 environment.
  • Excellent understanding of Database, DDS, sub files, RPG III or later & RPGLE programming concepts.
  • Excellent understanding of CL & OS/400 commands.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL/400 and other AS/400 utilities.
  • Perform iSeries/AS400 Technical Support & Operations CL Programming skills for automation.
  • Hands-on experience working within an enterprise-wide data center environment is desired.
  • Any experience in Web services, or Application Integration, or Modernization areas of AS/400 would be an added advantage.
  • Provide Technical Support during testing.
  • Assist in Deployment and provide Post-Deployment Support.
  • Interaction with the client team independently.

Required Candidate Profile:

  • 3-10 years of experience in iSeries/AS400/RPG Programming.
  • Should have experience in writing SQL queries.
  • Ability to identify system changes and verify that technical system specifications meet the business requirements.
  • Strong Problem-Solving and analytical skills.
  • Good Communication and Presentation skills.
  • Good attitude and self-motivated.
  • Strong knowledge of SQLRPGLE.
  • Good working knowledge of Free Format.
