Sonic ESB to Dell Boomi Migration
The version of Sonic ESB was end of production support in 2013, and the company was facing increasing difficulties to maintain and support this system which was a key part of its IT landscape. The challenges include :
- Customized programming for integration logic, and no proper source control tool led to fragmented and unmanageable source codes
- Difficult to recruit staff with Sonic ESB skills
- Sonic ESB development tool can only run on older versions of Window, which infringed the company IT and security policy
- Slow HA failover and in-adequate DR design
- No build-in services catalogue and management, and Excel is used to keep track of integration services, connectivity, consumers, producers etc.
- Not support integration with cloud base applications such as Workday and Services Now
Boomi Solace Reference Architecture
As a Boomi Services Partner, United Techno played the major roles in the migration and the tasks include:
- On site Jump Start training
- Participate in design workshop and overall architecture design
- Installation of Boomi testing, UAT and Production environment
- Conduct technical acceptance, performance and DR testing
- Lead the technical design of the phase migration plan
- Design the unit testing strategy for migration
- Perform Sonic ESB to Boomi migration tasks that include design, development, unit testing and support on UAT and production go live support
- For those Sonic processes with in-sufficient or no documentations, perform reverse engineering from Sonic program source codes
Successful migration of SONIC ESB in a phased approach without any impact to business operation.
